Cabbage Kielbasa Recipe

Cabbage is a green leafy vegetable which is rich in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals and is very popular in many dishes that are served with vegetables.

Cabbage Kielbasa Recipe

You will need:

1 coarsely chopped onion (large)
1 shredded medium head cabbage
2 red delicious apples (sliced thinly and cored)
2 can whole potatoes (small)
2/3 teaspoon of cooking oil or butter
1 ground pepper (fresh)
1 coarsely chopped onion (large)
1/2 cup of water
1 teaspoon of granular beef stock
2 teaspoons of fennel seed
450 grams of reduced fat kielbasa (polish sausage)


Instructions

Heat cooking oil or butter in a nonstick Dutch oven set at moderate heat. Put in chopped onion. Sauté until onion is pale and soft. Set the heat to low setting.

Load cabbage shreds on top. Sprinkle the beef stock over. Put the fennel, apple slices and pepper.

Make 6 slices of kielbasa, each having 1/3 slits through. Set them over the apples. Add water and potatoes. Place the cover.

Set the oven at high heat setting. When the water boils, lower the heat to allow simmering.

Stir the pot after 5 minutes. Make sure ingredients are well blended. Cook further until cabbage is done and everything is hot.
